If you are passionate about DIY crafts, you probably have an entire shelf full of necessary supplies for them. While some DIY crafts require a lot of skills and several supplies, other crafts are very simple and you can use things that are simply laying around your house.

One of the things you can use to create interesting and practical crafts for your home is a clothespin. Take a look at the best crafts for home projects that are both fun and practical. While these items might seem dull, they can have a lot of purposes once you decided to reuse them.

  • Clothespins Lamps

Did you know that you can redecorate an old and unused lamp with a bunch of clothespins? We are going to show you how to do it. The most amazing thing about this craft is that you can either decorate a regular lamp or make one yourself.

If you want to redecorate an old lanp you are going to need glue and clothespins. Catch each pin to another one in a circular way to cover the lamp. Make several circles or rectangles following the form of the lamp. After you made them, just glue them together one on top of the other and place them on the lamp. Leave a small space for the cord of the lamp and you are done.

If you want to make the lamp from scratch, you need to purchase a LED light or some Christmas lights. Separate the pins from the spring. After that, you should have 2 pieces of wood from every pin. Make several triangles and put them one on top of the other. Put the light inside the pyramid and you have you lamp.

  • Clothespins Coaster

Probably all of us ruined the kitchen table because we put a hot pot on it. In order to avoid this problem, you don’t need to buy a coaster, you can do it yourself. For this craft, you are going to need only 2 items: a hot glue and the clothespins.

First of all, separate the clothespin by removing the spring. Then, all you have to do is to glue the loose sides of the peg together in a circular way. The more layers you make, the bigger the coaster. You can make more of these coasters. For bigger pots, make 2 or 3 layers of clothespins.

  • Mirror Frame

This is another simple and practical craft you can do with clothespins. If you have a mirror without a frame, you can make it more interesting by using clothespins. You just need to attach the clothespins around the mirror and you are done.

If you want to make it more secure, you can glue them but be careful not to add too much glue. Also, you can paint the clothespins before you attach them to make the mirror frame even more amazing. Just add your favorite colors or write something using a marker.

  • Clothespins for Headphones

If you always tangle your headphones in your pocket, this craft is great for you. All you need is 2 clothespins and a glue. Attach the clothespins together. Roll the headphones around the clothespins and catch the ends of the headphones with the clothespins. This simple DIY craft is going to save you a lot of time and energy.

  • Organizers

Clothespins can be used as organizers. If you want to organize your kitchen without purchasing different boxes and storage shelfs, you can use clothespins. These small and dull items can be used for a lot of purposes. Organizers are great for a clean and tidy kitchen and house. Use clothespins to organize your tea or coffee bags. For this DIY craft, you are going to need a piece of fabric or a carton, glue, and the clothespins.

All you have to do is to glue the pins in a circle on the fabric. You can cut the carton or the fabric in a circle before you start. After you glue them, all you have to do is to attach every bag to a different clothespin. You can also pain the clothespins before starting the craft or you can put decorative sticky tape on them for a more interesting look.

These are just a few things you can do with your unused clothespins. So instead of throwing the broken ones away, find a new purpose for them. Get creative and try out the crafts that you like. You can select more complicated crafts if you feel up to it.
