Pneumatic Tools To Add To Your Collection

March 7, 2022 by vicky

Pneumatic tools, or air tools, were previously only used by contractors and other kinds of professionals like mechanics. However, these tools have recently become more mainstream and can be used by anyone interested in DIY, auto mechanics, and other hands-on hobbies.

These tools have become so popular simply because they are powerful and relatively easy to operate. What’s more, they offer various advantages over their electric-powered alternatives. One significant advantage is that air tools are typically safer to use than electric-powered tools.

Nevertheless, keep in mind that each pneumatic tool is designed for different purposes and functions. So, it’s essential to know what each tool is for before purchasing. We’ve listed some common types of pneumatic tools to consider adding to your collection.

Air Wrenches

An air wrench can remove nuts and bolts with much more ease than its traditional counterpart. This tool is far more efficient, and most consider it a toolbox essential.

Furthermore, there are two primary kinds of air wrenches; the air impact wrench and the air ratchet wrench. The pneumatic impact wrench delivers a substantially high torque output with minimal effort input, while the pneumatic ratchet wrench requires an air compressor and can fit into tight spots. Each has its unique features as a wrench.

Pneumatic Screwdriver

Although it is powered by compressed air, an air screwdriver has the same purpose as a regular screwdriver. With this tool, you can tighten and loosen screws without much hassle at all. These are especially handy to have to avoid stripping exceptionally tight screws.

Pneumatic Air Sprayer

A pneumatic air sprayer is an essential tool to have if you will be respraying auto parts or indulging in various DIY projects. This sprayer is one of the most convenient types on the market. It uses compressed air to apply the paint evenly to surfaces. However, the only notable downfall of this tool is that it’s pretty loud to use, as an air compressor is required for use. There are also other kinds of paint sprayer tools.

Pneumatic Die Grinder

A pneumatic die grinder is a potent tool that uses compressed air to function. This particular tool is undeniably versatile, as it can be used for grinding, polishing, sharpening, and even cutting metals. Furthermore, a pneumatic die grinder can also widen holes and fill in metal edges.

Pneumatic Blower

A pneumatic blower is another excellent addition to any toolbox. This particular tool is useful when a large volume of constant airflow is required. Cleaning, drying, controlling dust, and ventilation are examples of pneumatic blower tool use. This tool is far more effective than a standard household fan as the design enables you to direct airflow with ease.

Pneumatic Shears

Whether crafting art or creating furniture, you might need metal cutouts for various reasons. If you do, it’s worthwhile to have air-powered shears. Because most metals can’t be cut with regular scissors, pneumatic shears are an excellent investment. These tools are designed to cut plastic and metal sheets accurately and without much hassle.

Pneumatic Reciprocating Saw

A quality saw is an essential tool for furniture making and various other hobbies and careers. However, the ordinary saw is time-consuming and tedious to use. And electric-powered saws are pretty expensive. Fortunately, a pneumatic reciprocating saw is the ideal in-between option for a saw that won’t be strenuous and unmanageable and won’t break the bank either.

These saws can help you get the job done sooner and enhance accuracy. What’s more, they can be used for heavy-duty projects like cutting steel pipes and others.

Air Riveter

An air riveter is another great toolbox addition. With this tool, you can attach rivets professionally and quickly without much effort at all. Using this tool is relatively straightforward. The only relevant downside is that air riveter tool designs have a limited reach.

Air Nailers

A nail gun is another tool widely considered essential for various DIY projects, although there are various different kinds of nail guns. Air nailers can primarily reduce the effort of inserting nails into multiple surfaces. What’s more, this tool is substantially durable in comparison to its electric-powered alternative, and it’s typically more affordable as well.

There are several other types of pneumatic tools that offer different functions. When shopping around for air tools, be sure to prioritize quality; it’s no secret that inferior quality tools just don’t last. Moreover, consider brand reliability and functions to select the most suitable types of air tools for your collection. That said, it’s also essential to invest in proper storage solutions for your tool collection, as storage is fundamental in keeping your tools in good condition over the years.
