The great thing about Twickenham is the fun activities they have for both kids and adults. It is a beautiful leafy suburb with prominent local schools and great transport links.
Twickenham is a fusion of the beautiful old part, the modern high street and the quiet, residential Twickenham Green area, which in turn makes Twickenham memorable. Crane Park makes a great place for a relaxing dog walk, with its nature reserve and shot tower. While the Whitton part of Twickenham has a quieter feel and 1930s charm.
Twickenham is also famous for lovely Restaurants as it is filled with a lot fabulous places to eat. So you don’t have to worry about you and young one getting famished from having fun.

Visit Richmond Park
Apart from being London’s largest Site of Special Scientific Interest and a European Special Area of Conservation, Richmond Park is one of the beautiful Parks you should visit in Twickenham. It has very old trees and supports a range of rare species including fungi, birds, beetles, bats, grasses and wildflowers.
It’s a relaxing place to go for a nature walk, and unlike other attractions, it is not crowded or stuffy. You can rent a bikes within the park, try power kiting, horse riding or golf, and there is a children’s playground by the Kingston Gate.
Visit Kew Gardens
Kew Gardens is a botanic garden that houses the “largest and most diverse botanical and mycological collections in the world. It has more than 300 acres of wonderful outdoor garden to explore. There is a tropical rainforest, an interactive play area called Amazing Climbers and Creepers, and the fun Treetop Walkway. If your kids are on school holidays, there is a lot of fun activities organized for kids, in Kew Gardens.
Football
You can’t be in London generally and not think football as there are lots of activities for your kids in this field. So it doesn’t matter if you are just here for the holidays, there are football academies that organize fun activities for your kids.

Explore Bushy Park
Bushy Park is the largest of the Royal Parks. It has a fantastic outdoor children’s adventure playground with equipment suitable for kids aged 2 to 10. There are climbing boulders, a large sandpit, and a basket swing. The park holds regular seasonal events for kids, including wild flower walks and orienteering days. There are lots of deer roaming the park and a mini beast safari for younger children.
Swim in Hampton Pool
If it is in the summer time, and you just want to relax after other fun activities, Hampton Pool is the place for you. It is one place to relax while having fun. This fantastic outdoor pool is heated to a toasty 28 degrees all year round, so if you are feeling particularly hardy, you and the kids can swim in the middle of winter without succumbing to hypothermia. Your babies and toddlers are not left out either as they have their own pool. The pool is open 365 days a year, even on Christmas day!
Hounslow Urban Farm
Hounslow Urban Farm is ideal for younger children. Your kids can enjoy some hands-on animal encounters with all manner of farmyard creatures, birds and even some eight-legged friends. There is pony riding for toddlers, interactive live displays with tortoises, snakes and spiders, and resident alpacas, peacocks, ducks and geese.

River Thames
River Thames is just a short walk from Twickenham station. You could walk along its historic tow path, or check out Church Street, a cobbled road full of quirky independent shops. There is also St Mary’s church with its medieval tower which is just off Church Street.
There is an urban beach open all year around which I am sure your kids would love. There is also an unusual sculpture garden along the river where you could have a picnic with your family.
Walking along the Twickenham tow path is incredibly amazing. One direction takes you towards Richmond where the eighteenth century houses line the path. In the other direction you end up in Teddington.
Eel Pie Island
This is a small island in the River Thames by Twickenham and is only accessible by a footbridge. Henry VIII is said to have used it for discreet courting while it was a favorite with Charles Dickens. It was a popular holiday destination for Londoners after Eel Pie Island hotel opened in 1830.
Strawberry Hill House
The Gothic castle was built by politician Horace Walpole in the eighteenth Century. It is an impressive sight to see with your kids and another top Twickenham attraction. It was completed in 1776 and has gotten a lot of attention from visitors. Walpole wanted a tour of Strawberry Hill to be a ‘theatrical experience’ and took inspiration from Gothic cathedrals and abbeys. Alongside sumptuous, bright interiors are gloomy stone stairwells while many items of Walpole’s antiquarian collection remain.
The great thing about Twickenham is that it is only short train ride from central London, where you can visit any number of major attractions, including the Natural History Museum, the Tower of London, and the London Dungeon. So it doesn’t matter if you have just relocated to Twickenham, there are lots of fun things you can still do within without feeling far away from London.
