April 23, 2019 by vicky

As the relentless crowd’s flock to major tourist sites in cities popular and populated cities like Paris and Venice, travelers should realize that we’re wearing each other out including the cities we’re visiting. It is a common struggle across Europe, but this does not mean that Europe as a whole has been overtaken by mobs of tourists.

There are plenty of exciting destinations filled with awesomeness and mind-blowing features that may not be new, but are emerging, exciting and worthy of a visit. The great thing about these unpopular destinations is that the crowds haven’t gotten to them yet, making vacations as peaceful and beautiful as possible. There are so many experiences worth having and most of these experiences are sure to be achieved in Euro trips.

  • PIRAN, SLOVENIA

The first-time visitor is often drawn to the fishing village on the Adriatic coast, by gorgeous pictures of turquoise sea and Venetian-style architecture. In the last 5 years, Tourism in Slovenia has really picked up and increased by 9% in the last year alone. In an effort to preserve the beautiful landscapes, culture and overall beauty of the country, the Slovenian government came up with the Slovenia green initiative – a nationwide effort for the sustainable development of the Tourism industry. The church of St. George is one of the most popular sight to see in all of Piran.

Reason being that it is located right in the main square and climbing the stairs to the top of the bell tower would earn you a view of the whole town! Other exciting places to visit include the nature park where you’ll have a chance to tour the largest salt evaporation site in all of Slovenia, and see salt traditionally harvested, the outdoor spa and the coast where you can enjoy immaculate sunsets or go for a swim in the Adriatic.

  • EXTREMADURA, SPAIN

In Southern Spain, Extremadura is a region rich in history and delicious food. Located here are the Roman and medieval ruins and the history of the Spanish empire among others. Extremadura has incredible landscapes in cities such as Badajoz and Caceres, that offer experiences such as Garganta de Los Infiernos (translated roughly to ‘The Throat of Hell’) a stunning gorge with rock pools you can swim in; and Monfrague National Park, which is particularly well-known for its birdlife.

  • SKADAR LAKE NATIONAL PARK, MONTENEGRO

Lake Skadar is the most visited of the 5 national parks in Montenegro. Boats are fairly small and motor-powered, aiding the coverage of an extensive area of the lake from where you can view Albania, the rail bridge, the monastery, churches, various ruins and the mountains etc. One of the most popular activities of the park is Hiking. There are about 10 marked hiking trails and a detailed hiking map can be purchased at the entrance and biking is also made available as one of the fun games.

  • IRELAND’S WEST COAST

Taking a road trip down the coast will give you hilarious views of charming villages and quiet bays. There are greats sights at the Cliffs of Moher, visit the Ring of Kerry, all while discovering fresh landscapes like the Inishowen Peninsula in the north and the Slea Head Drive located in the south. Being a country with tradition in horse racing, you can see how inviting its landscape is for equestrian rides. Crowd-weary travelers are also guaranteed to find solace in Ireland’s remote and lush sceneries. There are incredible cultural practices to be found in small villages like Doolin, which is also known as Ireland’s music capital, and Dingle, a small but wave making city that is home to a famous concentration of traditional Irish pubs.

  • GDANSK, POLAND

The historic centre of the city is a beautiful place for exploration. It has stunning architecture heavily influenced by Germanic and Polish tradition. Gdansk is made up of three cities, commonly called the tricity, which includes Gdansk (the largest), Sopot and Gdynia. Hence when visiting Gdansk, you are not only visiting one city but three. Gdánsk has a beach for exploration, great food, colorful tall buildings and is relatively close to Malbork Castle, which is the largest castle in the World.
