After a year where many were stuck working from home, it’s time you finally got out. Or maybe you’re a transcriptionist for Provider’s Choice Scribe Services, or perhaps you are even a teacher that’s been teaching students via zoom; regardless of your occupation, it’s time for a vacation! And what better way to relax than with an exhilarating trip to Universal Studios? There are games, shows, amazing scenery, and, of course, rides. But with all that fun and excitement, it can be easy to forget that you need to stop and grab a bite at some point. If you don’t want to stop in the middle of your day to eat, CityWalk (located upon entry of the park) has plenty of fantastic dining options to choose from. Pick one out on your way in or as you’re leaving! Here are some of CityWalk’s best food options.
Antojitos
If you’re in the mood for Mexican food, Antojitos is your best bet. They serve authentic-style Mexican dishes like stuffed burritos, fajitas, and freshly made guacamole prepared right in front of you. The building itself is rich with vibrant colors and is filled with upbeat music performed by live mariachi bands. This is also the place to go when you’re craving a cocktail, as the menu is filled with an extensive selection of refreshing beverage choices. Vamanos!
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
Forrest’s mama said it best when she stated that, “Life is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you’re gonna get.” The same could be said for Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., as the number of delicious food choices can make it hard to decide what to get! They’ve got nearly every seafood option you can think of: shrimp burgers, shrimp skewers, stuffed shrimp, coconut shrimp, and even just plain ole’ shrimp! And, uh…that’s about it. On a more serious note, they also have an assortment of fish, chicken, muscles, clams, pork, ribs, and more! If you’re a lover of Forrest Gump or seafood (or both!), head over to Bubba’s before you leave.
Vivo Italian Kitchen
In the mood for a more elegant experience? Vivo Italian Kitchen serves authentic Italian cuisines that are to die for; linguine, burrata cheese, mouthwatering pizza, and scrumptious desserts await. The interior of the establishment resembles a more traditional restaurant, as opposed to the themed ones in the park, and holds a certain amount of class in both its appearance and delivery. They only serve at dinner time, but it’s a great way to sit and relax after a day of walking and doing loops on roller coasters. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better Italian restaurant inside or outside of the park for quite a while.
But Wait, There’s More!
These are just a few places to try in CityWalk alone, but there are other options, too, like Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Restaurant and The Cowfish. If you don’t mind eating inside the park amidst your thrill ride adventuring, Universal has an abundance of creatively-themed restaurants from some of your favorite movies and TV shows. Visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to dine at The Leaky Caudron or Three Broomsticks for a hot homestyle meal, The Simpsons Fast Food Court for a quick yet highly detailed experience, or Mythos, which makes you feel like you’re sitting in a cave while dining on delicious courses. Wherever you decide to dine during your stay at Universal Studios, you’re sure to find a restaurant that both tastes great and leaves you with a sense of wonder.
